Skate Angelo was created in 2023 to renovate & replace the deteriorating San Angelo Riverside Skatepark. The skate park has been open for over twenty years & the park's current obstacles are well past their expiration period & are in dire need of being replaced entirely. The Riverside skatepark obstacle's deterioration is caused both by consistent usage & also by weather elements that cause their plastic & metal to break down over time. Holes are developing in some structures, and their surface areas are rusting, cracked & warping.
The members of our skating community have a great emotional attachment to our local skatepark & to prevent possible injury to the park's participants & ensure that the skatepark is functioning properly, we suggest retiring the current structures that are damaged & replacing them with newer obstacles.
We owe it to our youth to ensure that the local skater's safety is a top priority & we are providing them with a well-maintained space where they can participate in a positive physical activity such as skateboarding or inline skating without the risk of injury from faulty equipment.
