The San Angelo Early Childhood Center (SAECC) was organized in 1935 to care for children of mothers who worked during the Great Depression. Over the years, SAECC has been able to expand the number of children to care for within the community and surrounding counties with support from grants, local community members, and United Way of the Concho Valley. SAECC offers high quality care for children 7 week to 5 years of age on a sliding-scale based on income and the number of family members in a household. The sliding-scale supports parents to work or attend school with the assurance that their income will stretch beyond childcare cost to help pay for other basic needs like food and utilities. In addition, SAECC is a proud participant of the Texas School Readiness Program, and a Texas Rising Star 3 out of 4 stars provider.
